A personal PCI case logbook.

PCI Diary is a private case diary for interventional cardiologists. It brings the visual result and the doctor’s reasoning together, so a case remains useful for reflection and teaching after the procedure.

The app is a record and teaching aid, not a diagnostic or treatment-planning tool. It does not replace your hospital’s clinical record. Its focus is your own learning: what you saw, what you did, and what you would remember for a similar case.

Capture the cath-lab monitor. Mask names on the phone.

Frame the image inside the camera’s square and take a photo or a short, silent clip of up to five seconds. On-phone text detection proposes black boxes over screen text. Check and adjust them before saving; only the projection angle and frame rate are intended to remain visible.

The masking is burned into the saved photo or clip on the phone. The unmasked camera file is deleted whether you keep the shot or retake it. This is a safeguard, not a guarantee of anonymity: review each image and follow your hospital’s rules for capture and retention.

Before-and-after angioplasty images, kept together.

Label images Before or After. PCI Diary pairs them in shooting order, with the option to choose which Before belongs to an After. Open a case to compare the pair and return to the same perspective.

A photo or clip can carry a procedure step and your own caption. Those words stay beside the case, rather than being separated from the image in a camera roll. This helps you revisit the result without relying on memory alone.

Speak the debrief while the reasoning is fresh.

Record the steps, result, complications, plan and lesson, or type your notes. Supported on-device speech recognition turns the debrief into text on the phone. If that speech model is unavailable, the keyboard remains available.

Optional AI tidying, under your control

If you allow Tidy with AI, the debrief recording and its text go to Google’s Gemini through Firebase. Images and clips are not sent to the AI. Review the suggested write-up before Use this; the original words are kept, and Go back to my words restores them.

Saving a case does not wait for AI, backup or a network connection. Read the privacy policy’s explanation of optional services before enabling them.

Turn a case into a teaching conversation.

Place teaching pins on an image to keep a decision, technique, pitfall, finding or complication with the point it refers to. A teaching view lets you walk through the case with a fellow, including without a signal.

A referral card brings the pair currently on screen together for sharing through your phone’s share sheet. Check the images and all free text for identifiers before sending. PCI Diary does not create public case links or a shared online case library.

Find the case you want to revisit.

Cases are grouped by month, with past years folded away. Search by vessel or word and star the cases you want to return to. The goal is a useful personal collection, organised around the procedures and lessons you remember.

Your own Google Drive backup, or one export.

Connect your own Google account if you want a backup. The app uses a visible PCI Diary Backup folder and limited Drive permissions. Media is sent before the case list; restore checks the files before merging cases onto the phone.

Export everything creates a zip containing the saved media and notes, with data that can be imported again. Debrief recordings are not included in backups or exports. Keep a verified backup before changing phones or removing the app. See Support for practical backup and restore steps.

Coming soon to iOS and Android.
